In 2008, the company dropped “Aegis” from its name, becoming Mission Essential Personnel, LLC. That year it placed sixth on Business First’s Fast Fifty list.
In 2009, MEP opened a major office in Chantilly, VA, focused on business development. That year, the American Small Business Coalition presented the company with its Founders Award for rapid growth and success serving U.S. Government personnel overseas. Also in 2009, Inc. Magazine included MEP on its “Inc. 500” roll of the fastest growing companies, at #8 in the Government Services category. Washington Technology listed the company among its Top 100 Government Contractors for 2009 based on prime contracting revenue.
